Engage a support network, discuss your problems, allow yourself to grieve, focus on the changes made during the treatment process, such as increased energy, and remind yourself of your daily accomplishments. Fighting cancer can lead to negative self-talk. It is natural to be critical of oneself, to focus solely on faults or regrets, and to reject any triumphs as unintentional or insignificant.
Every day, fight the desire to engage in negative thinking and remind yourself of your exceptional strengths, incredible tales of overcoming adversity, and long-term achievements.
To better overall reaction to treatment, both psychologically and physically, you should understand the value of self-awareness, self-esteem, assertiveness, stress management, problem-solving, and communication.
A cancer diagnosis can often leave you feeling overwhelmed. Everything in your life seems to shift and change, including routines, relationships, and habits.
While many of these changes will eventually stabilise, cancer can have severe and long-term effects on your emotional health. Some of these outcomes are unavoidable, but many are treatable. Mental health should be a major priority in all aspects of cancer treatment.
