From corporate to psychotherapy: my path to fulfillment

Updated: Oct 26, 2023

As a trained psychotherapist with qualifications from both Romania and the UK, I have spent the last decade working in the corporate world, mainly in Finance and Governance. Alongside my corporate job, I have built my private practice from scratch, which brought immense satisfaction and fulfilment.

While the qualities that arose from studying and understanding the psychology of the human mind helped me in the corporate world, I always felt I needed to follow my true passion: therapy.

After much contemplation and planning, I decided to pursue my passion full-time and even though it was a difficult decision, ultimately, I knew it was the right one for me.

I bring a unique perspective to therapy through the method I developed in the last 10 years of practice - WALK (Wonder, Awareness, Learn, Knowledge). Empathy, understanding, and a non-judgmental approach are essential to helping clients feel seen, heard, and understood.

My journey as a therapist has been filled with challenges and opportunities for growth, and I have been fortunate enough to work with some fantastic clients who have allowed me to witness their transformation and growth.

Like in any other job, it is essential to value self-care and boundaries for yourself. To be present for your clients and provide the finest care (customer service), pursue continual education and professional development opportunities to broaden your knowledge and skills. This includes attending workshops, conferences, and sometimes therapy for understanding yourself better.

Overall, my transition from a corporate job to a full-time psychotherapist has been a journey of self-discovery, growth, and fulfilment. It now allows me to live my passion and purpose, and I am grateful for the opportunity to help others on their journey towards healing and growth.

If you are considering a career change or pursuing your passion, I encourage you to take the leap and follow your heart. It may not be an easy journey, but the rewards are immeasurable.
